  • BYU getting props on ATH and PTI

    Both talked about the wind.

Marriotti praised Max for throwing the TD the play after getting the wind knocked out of him.

Wilbon praised BYU, Utah, and BSU for beating BSCAQ teams year after year. Kornheiser, noting BYU's football tradition, called for BYU to be in the PAC10, along with BSU. I've always loved Tony.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Wilbon read a quote from Colorado State head coach about how MWC teams deserve to be in the BCS. Kornheiser says, CSU should never be in (basically) but those other schools should (BYU, UU, BSU etc.)

Pat Forde lit BYU up today. Saying that win over OSU was not that impressive, that OSU did not want to be there after narrowly missing out on the Rose Bowl back to back seasons. He said most "BCS" schools treat these bowls like exhibition games where the "mid-majors" treat them like National Championship games.

I hate that argument. Let us in and we won't be so excited at the mere prospect of playing on the same field as you. Should help you out, right?
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Exactly. He's right that the non-BCS bowl games are considered consolation prizes for the AQ conferences. But as long as the non-AQ's are sending their champs to these games it will be this way. Although this year this was the MWC #2 vs. the Pac-10 #3 ... hardly a mismatch.

Yet BYU was thrilled to be there for the fifth straight year!

Hmm, then maybe the BCS schools should stop accepting the invitations and let a team that wants to be their get a chance.
