  • Lou Holtz, an awful color guy

A seemingly nice guy and good person from what I've read about him, but it's time ESPN put him out to pasture.

    Yes. That was torture.

Except that he really praised the Cougs at the end of the game and said that the whole BCS thing needed to be rethought. That redeemed alot of the tortuous things he said earlier.

I like listening to the old senile types. I imagine it to be like watching a game with certain CUFers.

When I read '71's posts, I hear Lou Holtz's voice. I'd worry about offending him, but I'm sure he's already gone to bed.

He did say some great stuff about BYU. It was almost like the Chad Lewis Notre Dame game commercial in reverse.

I thought I heard him say Detmer played 8 or 9 years in the NFL and was never a starter. C'mon Lou, he played 14 years and started 25 games.

I'd hate to use a microphone after him. They've gotta have a special waterproofed mic for him don't you think?

I will go out on a limb and say that I think he is funny.

He actually said that Detmer played 18 seasons in the NFL. Equally laughable, but perhaps more respectful. And I think he meant he never won a starting job.

I really don't like Dr. Lou, especially on College Football Final, but I actually enjoyed listening to him tonight. I don't know why, but I thought he was funny.
