  • Pitta named consensus all american

A week after he was snubbed for the John Mackey Award, BYU tight end Dennis Pitta received some fantastic news on Thursday morning.
Pitta has been named a Consensus All-American by the NCAA. That means on the consensus All-America team that will appear in the 2010 NCAA Football Records, Pitta’s name will appear under the tight end section.

Runningback was kind of split this year, too, with Gerhart winning the Doak Walker but Ingram winning the Heisman.

When you're a kid dreaming of college football, you talk about being an All-American, not a Mackey award winner.

Congratulations to Pitta on being a Consensus All American. He deserves it.
