  • When was the last time BYU had an All-American DB?

The only one I can think of was Kyle Morrell in 1984.

Brian Logan gets honorable mention. Oh, and Pitta was voted 1st team and Hall also received honorable mention.

    This past year.

We lost him to Chicago Law School.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I think either Chad Barney or Dewey Gray was honorable mention, I always get those two confused.

McTyer and Morgan were left off the list?

What about Brian Mitchell? He was pretty good.

Brian Logan, honorable mention All America?? Is that a joke? No other DB in the MWC made that list. I think I could easily list 15 DB's in the MWC that should be ranked above him.

FWIW he did rank #2 in passes defended.

What's the definition of a pass defended? Too bad they don't have it in terms of %. If you get picked on 50 times a game, you probably end up with high numbers on that stat in terms of absolute number.

Another reaffirmation of Jay's analytical skills.

The 2nd half of the season, teams definitively shifted their focus to throwing on Bradley. How many picks and defended passes did Bradley have this year?

You act like BYU All-Americans are a common occurrence.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

It looks like pass deflections + int. Logan was an above average BYU db but that isn't saying much. He is a good open field tackler despite his size, I'm glad he's here.

If you want to break it down, here's the logic. Logan wouldn't have started for Utah or TCU. Between the rest of the conference (including Utah and TCU backups), there are at least 3-4 that would start over him. That's 7.5 out of the CB field. Double it for the safeties, since the category was DB and you have your 15. I stand by this take. He was benched midway through the season, if you remember.

Logan as Honorable Mention All America is a joke.

P.S. I'm glad we have him also, and I cheered him when he got up and was helped off the field in the Utah game.

His benching had nothing to do with game performance.

What did it have to do with? Serious question. I thought it had to with the fact CSU abused him, and the coaches were looking for some better play.
