  • Class Rings

Do you have a class ring from high school or college? If so, do you wear it? If you don't, what do you do with it and does it hold any particular significance to you?

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I do not have a class ring from either high school or college.

I had one, but Hot Lunch won't give it back. He's been wearing it on a necklace for 13 years now.

I went to two different high schools. I got one from my first HS and wore it with pride at my second HS, but I lost it at some point and have not seen it for around 30 years.

        What is white gold, anyway?
        PLesa excuse the tpyos.

I had one but only because my mother really wanted me to get one. I think she thought things were the same as in her day and that everyone would have one. As it turned out of course, I was about the only one I knew who owned one. I haven't seen it in years and it has zero significance to me.

I was a sophomore when I received it. This is the one thing about High School I will absolutely not let go of.

I had one. I also had a lettermans jacket.

The ring was bounced off of my windshield after nasty breakup with a girl my Sr. year. Couldn't find the ring. She threw hard.

She also gave me back my jacket about 2 weeks later. It resembled a puzzle. About 100 pieces. I was sad.

my mom bought me a class ring in hs. I was a senior. we received them towards the end of the year.

I have no idea why I bought one. I have never worn it, I don't wear jewelry, and I don't care about high school these days (even though I loved HS).

I will allow any guy a wedding band. Once you start rocking a second ring, you have some explaining to do.

There are some geographic exceptions. If you are from New Jersey or if you are Catholic, for example. In which case, you are allowed one thin gold chain necklace, preferably with a crucifix on it.
                  Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

One of many regrets as a youth. I was using her and she found out.

It was a fun 6 months while it lasted though. Just doesn't seem like the cost was worth it.

Now that I have a kid in HS, she likes to wear her moms Lettermans jacket to school. She just got hers for Christmas and wore it to school for the first time today. She always tells me that if mine was still around she would wear it to school. (Even though it would be like a dress on her)

I wish I still had it for that reason.

Funny subject. I thought Gidget had started this thread as she was just giving me crap for mine. I got one, I have no clue why and have never worn it. It's pretty cool though I think. Has a volleyball and my number on one side and football and my number on the other side. Even has my signature etched in the inside. Anyway, it's sat in my mother's jewelery box for the last 10-11 years until recently making it's way to Gidget's jewelery box.

And DDD is spot on. When a guy starts wearing rings other than his wedding band it is lame.

Never bought a class ring. I hate rings because my mangled fingers make them hard to take off and I can't stand not being able to get them off.

Around the time I was going to buy my lettermans jacket members of the debate team started showing up to school with them. It turns out they decided you could letter in debate, choir, or band. I lost interest in buying one after that.

I don't have a class or college ring. I do have a Pac 10 championship ring I bought off a kid who never played on the football team though. I have never worn it though.

No class ring from high school or the three colleges I attended for different degrees.......BUT

At a baseball card show once Darrell Evans let me try on his 1984 Detroit Tigers World Series Ring.......that was frickin' awesome. He let me because I had run into him and his family at the Six Flags over Atlanta and recognized him. He asked me not to tell people who he was since he was with his kids.....I didn't tell anyone. When I saw him a few weeks later at the card show, I told him it was me. He thanked me, offered me his autograph, and that's when I my balls grew three sizes in my shorts and I asked him if I could try it on.

One of my best memories of the teenage years. I'd say it was 1991 or 1992.
