Am I the only one who has always pronounced the famous red plant we see at Christmas time as "Poin Set Uh"? Everytime I watch the bowl that Cal and whoever they are playing this year is in, it drives me crazy to hear the constant "Poin Setty uh" references. I realize this is the correct way based upon the spelling, but I had never heard it pronounced that way until the bowl changed its name a few years ago. Is this just another byproduct of my backwoods elementary education?

I am with you on the pronunciation. I have always said it the way you do and it bugs me when I hear it said the other way.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostAm I the only one who has always pronounced the famous red plant we see at Christmas time as "Poin Set Uh"? Looks like there are two acceptable pronunciations. Your preferred pronunciation is the second of the two. You can click on the link to hear both of them.
