  • Why do people CAPITALIZE the subject in several (but not all) thread titles?

Is it an inside joke? What am I missing?

Ofttimes on the internet capitalization is used to emphasize a word and is may even create the visual appearance of shouting.

Only SUGAR BOWL should be all caps. That's the standard.

Why should that bowl be capitalized?

BTW you wouldn't know this SU, but while mingling with the many Bama fans last year, we learned that the correct lingo was to call it "the Sug." As in, "1993? Yeah we went to the Sug that year."

If you truly do not know why certain words are capitalized and to whom this tradition traces, then how can you be numbered amongst us?

Like most fingerprints, this All-caps custom has common DNA with one person and one person only.
