  • How to make the bowl system 1000% better

Short of a playoff, there are two things that could be done to make the post-season much better.

    BCS Bowls:
Have the bowls rotate through the order or selection like they do now, but make who goes to each automatic. 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, 5 vs. 6, and so on.

    Rest of bowls:
    1. Require 7 wins. With a 12 game season, it's ridiculous for a .500 team to go bowling.

    2. Require bowls to pick from their conference affiliations based on BCS rankings. If you get the 2nd Big-12 team, you get the 2nd highest ranked Big-12 team, period. I wouldn't even go by rankings in conference for this.

Doing those 3 things would make the post-season MUCH better. Teams would play their way into the best bowl they can. No back-room deals, BS about TV ratings, etc.

The problem with the back room deals and the emphasis on TV ratings is that bowls are financial entities with profit motives.

"Fairness" ignoring profit will only happen if the bowls are eliminated and the NCAA owns the postseason and the selection.
