    A quick question for the board

    Given that I missed out on all of this fun last year, how long is it before all of the whiny bitches settle down and move on to talking about something else.

    Max Hall hates Utah.....big surprise, oh and the martians will get their leader back
    Alex Smith hates BYU......shocker
    ALUF's are conflicted.......stop the presses
    TBBYUF are offended........I'm stunned
    CB and UFN in a bitch fight to claim the moral high ground....like no one saw that coming

    I am starting to get SU's groove here. It is easier to simply hate your rival and not be involved in trying to justify anyones words or actions(then he starts this thread http://www.cougaruteforum.com/showthread.php?t=14488 and now I am all confused)

            You mean those who whine about how they don't like the rivalry and then afterward whine about how everyone else is whining? I doubt we'll ever hear the end of it...

                I hate when you fight with yourself.

                This year has been especially bitter in comparison to how it was last year (imo), but I think that has a lot to do with the closeness of the contest. Last year BYU fans wanted it to disappear and since I only frequent BYU boards it didn't take long till the storm blew over. Of course, there was hand-wringing but that doesn't have the same adversarial spirit.

                I imagine '07 might have inspired as much controversy, but message boards were barely on my radar screen back then, so I don't have a great recollection of it.

                  I think the essence of the controversy for Ute fans this season is the repetitive nature of these close losses. Much like 34-31 Parts 1&2 for BYU fans.

                  In 3 of the last 4 games, Ute fans have had their hearts ripped out...twice literally on the very last play of the game.

                  That is tough to take for any fan.
