  • What would be the worst matchup for TCU

I think the worst possible match-up for TCU would be Cincinnatti. They have enough athletes I think they can move the ball and score on anyone. If TCU did win (which I think it would), it quickly would be viewed like Utah-Pitt; good teams should beat anyone from the Big East.

I would love to see a TCU-UT matchup. I think TCU would match up very well against Texas, plus the instate opponent would add to the drama. It also would fun to see Jerry Hughes could stay on top to the water long enough to tackle Tebow, or like Peter he would look down and fall.

I'd like to see that as well, but it can't happen, right? The only way Texas doesn't play in the NC game is if they lose - and if they lose, TCU has a legit shot at the NC game, no?

No the worst would be Boise State, because the two flies in the ointment would be intentionally robbed of the chance to join Utah in pulling the curtain away from the Wizard of Oz and exposing him for what he really is.

No it won't happen. It Texas wins they play for the NC, if for some strange reason they lose, TCU would play the UF-AL winner.

No because watching them dominate the donkeys would give me a lot more satisfaction than seeing TCU destroy Nick Van Exel's alma mater. But yes, as far as public respect it wouldn't do much for the frogs.

A definite worst case right there. But if the BCS wanted to stick it to the non-BCS, that would be the perfect way to do it.

Cincy is at least Undefeated. Pitt was what 8-4?

Wow I forgot they were so bad. That was an excellent Utah, it is too bad they weren't able to play a top team in 2004. I'm not discounting the team, the Fiesta Bowl or their success, since all the same arguments could be made about BYU circa 1984. Lets just hope Nebraska can resurrect the ghosts of Tommy Frasier, Irving Fryar and Mike Rosier (those names bring back good memories don't they Babs?) this Saturday and beat Texas.

Maybe. Some "experts" are speculating that if Cincy beats Pitt soundly, it might be enough for them to jump TCU in the BCS standings. If that happened and Texas loses, Cincy would play for the NC.

That's right. I forgot about that game. In fact, it is highly probably that a blowout win over Pitt puts Cincy ahead of TCU.

BTW, who does Texas play in the Big 12 championship?

                      Nebraska.

A little history: an unranked and off-the-radar Texas team came from nowhere to knock Texas out of its last national title bid in the first Big 12 championship game. It doesn't look like Nebraska can return the favor, but then I guess you never know.

The game is in Dallas this year.

Texas is apparently its own worst enemy.
