Why do Ute fans do the Miami Hurricane sign with their hands? Are they trying to rile BYU fans up? Don't they remember that BYU won the game against Miami? It is really confusing.

steelblue has a really good idea for a new "sign" BYU can use to not feel left out of having a cool sign like the Utes 2-handed "U" and the hand claw used by the horned frogs... If you're interested, you should contact him. He kept doing it during the game, and I think it is at least partially why the Cougs won. It's kind of like a 2 pawed motion made to a growling noise.Originally posted by BlueHair View PostWhy do Ute fans do the Miami Hurricane sign with their hands? Are they trying to rile BYU fans up? That sounds cool, but I doubt it will catch on. BYU likes to have unique traditions. As far as stealing traditions go, Miami isn't a bad choice. They are a school with a lot of tradition.Originally posted by OrangeUte View Poststeelblue has a really good idea for a new "sign" BYU can use to not feel left out of having a cool sign like the Utes 2-handed "U" and the hand claw used by the horned frogs... No joke here. Someone tried to officially get this going when I was just off my mission in 92. There was a bit on it in the Daily Universe.Originally posted by OrangeUte View Poststeelblue has a really good idea for a new "sign" BYU can use to not feel left out of having a cool sign like the Utes 2-handed "U" and the hand claw used by the horned frogs... The stadium used to blare "Black cat" by Janet Jackson after the taped "cougar growl." As fans, we were "encouraged" to make a growling noise and a paw motion in the air after the taped cougar growl. The idea was that we intimidate the opponent.
The Cougar paw never really caught on.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.
