How much will they shape how you view this team and season? For me they are quite big. If we win both and finish 11-2, I will think this season is a success. 1-1 and finish at 10-3 and I will also think the season is a success, but more of a lukewarm success. 0-2 and finish at 9-4 and this season will be a failure for me.

Which is not to say I don't think 9-4 is a good record in most years; I'd take that depending on the circumstances. But with a Sr. quarterback and a considerable amount of talent (Hall, Pitta, Unga, Jacobsen, et al.), I will be very disappointed if that's where we end up.

    Thoughts?

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I think there should definitely be more than a "rebuilding year" standard applied. I don't know if Austin Collie helps us beat Florida St. and TCU (I think it's probable in both cases that if our O is on the field a bit more we could have turned the tide early in those games-- and we especially sorely missed the deep threat vs. TCU), but we've got enough gas on this team to mow over a lot of teams.

A fourth consecutive 10-win season would be an incredible success, in spite of not winning the MWC title. Next year is the rebuilding year, but I think a lot of us will be surprised at the success we find w/ a new QB and D line.
