Looks like a toss-up between BYU and Utah since they are tied with 3 conference titles a piece. Amazing that BYU had 3 of their worst years in history and yet they are right there with Utah during the best decade in Utah football history. Speaks volumes.

Maybe Utah should throw another parade.

Amazing, I would put Utah ahead of BYU as team of the decade. However, even with that, many people accross the country when they are talking about Utah, they think they are talking about BYU. The reverse never happens.

How many more teams of decades do you think it will take before fans outside of Utah won't be doing that.

You forgot the most important stat of all. I'll give you a hint: Utah is 2-0 and everyone else is 0-0.

You can read the minds of people all across the country? That's a neat trick. Where did you learn it?

I listen to national sports shows and hear people get mixed up. I remember even a sport journalist interviewing your great receiver Smith with Carolina. The announcer asked him if he was mormon. Basically he said hell no and why did he ask. The announcer said, "because I thought all players who went to BYU were mormons." The guy knew he went to Utah, but thought that meant BYU.

I have never heard the reverse.

However, I don't mind you trying to belittle me, it is rivalry week.

You need to break out the BCS bowl wins.

Seems to speak to the crappiness of the MWC. 4 teams with winning records over the decade, and AFA only marginally so.

I went back and looked at all of the numbers over the past decade (stats, records, etc) It is BYU, Utah, TCU and then everyone else. In reality it is not even close.

Take even random stats from this year, for example 3rd down conversion Defense, BYU is 1, Utah 2, TCU 3, AF 4,

Kickoff coverage (about as random as it gets)
                  Utah 1, TCU 2, BYU 3

                  Ints
                  TCU, BYU, Utah, AF

                  Pass effiiency defense
                  TCU, AF, Utah, BYU

Unreal how those 4 are clearly above everyone in about every category imaginable.

It is unfortunate that the division is so steep. It gives too much ammo to the conference critics. Last year was a step forward for the conference with the wins that UNLV had over ASU and UNM over Zona, but outside of Byu beating OU, TCU's triumphs over the ACC, and Utah beating Louisville, I don't recall another out of conference win over a BCS conference team.

EDIT-As I hit enter, I remembered CSU over CU

It's funny that the Ute fan base no longer relies on the "arrogant" description of BYU fans. My how the tables turn!

USU still relies heavily on it.

Did you really have to look up stats to come to this conclusion?

I wonder how different that is in other conferences. I would be surprised if it is too far off. When I think about the Pac 10, ACC, Big East and probably Big Ten too, I think about two or three teams that are consistently good and a lot of bums. Add the Big 12 to that list lately. Only the SEC seems to have more solid top to bottom, though it has bottom feeders too.

I think the MWC is writing the book on how to become a BCS conference. Rather than have a single good team from time to time, we now have three teams that compete consistently and if Boise gets invited it will be four. That puts us right on part with every conference but the SEC. We may not be the strongest BCS conference (assuming that occurs) year in and year out, but we will be no worse than most of them and winning the conference will actually mean something every year, which as this point it should.

TCU's winning percentage is 15 percentage points higher than Utah's.
