Utah 5A state champs. I hated them when I was in high school but I guess since I'm now a South Jordanite they're my team. Plus they've turned out to be a good pipeline for the Y.

My alma mater. I was the first class that graduted entirely from what was then the new building (moved down the canyon). Back then we sucked at football but were very good in basketball.Originally posted by venkman View PostUtah 5A state champs. Sluga was nuts. He was fun to taunt.
You're a bit older than I, creekster if you were there with the Roberts. The Pollards were at Bingham when I was a Hack...I mean a Hawk."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

And congrats to Timpview as 4A champs.
That's four straight and five out of the last six."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I went and watched the alma mater lose to the T-Birds today. Springville's defense forced a bunch of fumbles and was pretty strong for most of the day. But Springville's sophomore QB threw way too many INTs -- two to Ofa Latu.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostAnd congrats to Timpview as 4A champs.

Timpview's secondary looked strong, but their defense wasn't great against the run -- Springville would have been better off just giving the ball to Alema Key on every play.
Anybody know where Timpview's LB Ofa Latu will be playing next year? He looked like a D-1 linebacker today, but I don't think he had any offers. It would be cool if he could walk-on with BYU.

Yes, Alema had a great game. It's a shame he didn't stick with Timpview his senior year.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostI went and watched the alma mater lose to the T-Birds today. Not sure about Ofa. He really came on strong at the end of the year. Four INT's in the last two games. The QB (Brown) is getting a lot of recruiting attention of late. Supposedly, LSU is pursuing him now. Along with BYU, Utah, USU... Chris Badger (safety - #20) committed to Stanford but then switched to Notre Dame (nice options, eh?). But to tell you the truth, they don't have as many D1 players on the team as they have had each of the last few years. I didn't think they would pull if off this year. Lots of young players so they should be pretty strong again next year."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

My alma mater (East High in SLC) went undefeated one year and won the championship game 33-0. Complete domination. But they've gone downhill since; I think they were shut out five times this season
We've always kicked butt at hockey though. EAST HIGH 'TILL WE DIE, GO ICE LEOPARDS GO!!

My sophomore year we played East in the semifinals. We lost 14-12. We had two touchdowns negated in the final minute. The first one our receiver caught it in the corner of the endzone and the ref said he was out of bounds. Honestly it was not even close the ref after the game said he forgot that in high school you only have to get one foot in, the receiver actually had 2 feet down. The next play we scored again and it was called back on a hold.Originally posted by Fiyero View PostMy alma mater (East High in SLC) went undefeated one year and won the championship game 33-0.
