  • Joseph Smith Jr.: Reappraisals after Two Centuries

I don't know how I missed this new book published by Oxford University press:

    http://www.amazon.com/Joseph-Smith-J...6274369&sr=8-1

The volume is edited by Reid Neilson and Terryl L. Givens. Looks really interesting. Its a compilation of 15 articles from a nice mix of Mormon and non-Mormon writers. You can preview it a bit on google books:

    http://books.google.com/books?id=1Lc...&cad=0#PPP9,M1

Also the Juvenile Instructor blog overviews the book (mostly gives the books blurbs about the contributors):

This one might be a reasonable one for an online book dicussion because we can discuss an essay/article at a time.

Not sure why but I first read Reappraisals as Reprisals.

For a minute there I thought the Danites were reforming.
