So, Baal and Yahweh were both once part of a pantheon of Hebrew Gods, equal to one another.
Elohim and Asherah were pretty much mom and pop.
Baal and Yahweh were offspring.
The Hebrews, our theological forefathers, worshipped them all.
Then, they decided that it wasn't necessary to worship them all.
They combined the attributes from Baal and Yahweh and bestowed them upon Yahweh. Baal was discredited and maligned. Some of you might have heard the high praise that he and his followers got in the Old Testament, right?
So, now we have arrived to, essentially, Dad (Elohim) and on brother (Yahweh).
The Bamram advocates for worshipping Asherah (Mother).
I hereby advocate for our Other Brother from the Same Mother: Baal.
We must restore a fullness of our gospel heritage to the Church.
BTW, I think that Baal was actually the gay, black brother...so one can see why nobody in the Church wants to talk about him.
