  • Harvey Unga

After watching the TCU game again, I have more respect for Harvey Unga. He was incredible on Saturday with very little help from his O line He was the only bright spot of the night. To have the game he had against that Defense is note worthy. He is a fun player to watch when he gets the ball.

His vision is so good. He sees the smallest opening and he goes for it and is so hard to bring down.

BYU fans better hope that Harvey sticks around for his senior year. I don't have any idea what he will amount to at the next level. I think that me may lack the speed to really make in the NFL as a tailback but he is one damn good college running back.

On a side note, I have no idea why I watched that awful game again. It was worse the 2nd time around.

Best offensive player in the conference bar none.

By the way Ute fans I think David Reed is the best receiver in the conference, he is at least 1a. and Vincent Brown is 1b.

Thanks but Reed is not a Mormon so he cannot make magic happen. Sucks for us Utes I guess.

I think HL will vehemently disagree with you given that Reed was a Juco.

I also worry about replacing Harvey, I don't expect him to be here next year. Having him back would go a long way to help break in a new QB.

On a side note, when Curtis Brown graduated I don't remember Harvey being the heir apparent. I remember counting on Fui and Tonga. Harvey came out of nowhere for me. Any chance there is another Harvey Unga that will burst on the scene for 2010 like he did for 2007?

The season is only half over. Surely Kerley is in the discussion somewhere.

You have no idea who Vincent Brown is, do you?

              Total yards per game:

              David Reed 129.3
              Harvey Unga 128.5
              Jeremy Kerley 128

Harvey is the only one that does not also return kicks.

Actually, I think the same way Junkie does. David Reed is 1a and Vincent Brown is 1b as to who is the best wide outs in the conference.

You really don't understand the way I feel about JC guys SU.

Right now, there is no heir apparent in the program.

Nope, but I could see Adam Hine, Drew Phillips or Josh Quezada (if we land him) all step up and be big time players.

Not to mention Harvey Langi in 2 years.

I can't remember. Does Hine come back next year? If he does come back, will he be in time for spring ball?

True. I didn't say he was the leader, but he is in the mix, as your numbers above bear out, and the season is only half over.

I think if Quezada commits, he makes an immediate impact. He looks like the real deal.

I agree but it is offensive POY, not special teams POY. He pads his stats significantly with his special teams yards. As an offensive player he is just ok.
