Watching Game Day right now and they just showed Florida's remaining schedule. They have played 1 ranked opponent this season and will not play another one until the SEC championship game.

Yes, they have a two-game schedule. Game 1 was at LSU, coming after a bye week.
The other three ranked SEC teams in last week's AP poll-- Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss-- are the three SEC teams not on their schedule. The opened the season with two high school teams and close it against .333 Florida State.
My prediction for the title game is Alabama vs. USC. Boise/TCU fills the Rose Bowl vacancy.

Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostWell, I am one that thinks the SEC is the toughest conference in football. Other than LSU, which they played after a bye week, Florida dodged the other tops team in the league. Their non conference games are laughable. I can't knock them for the FSU game. That is a rivalry game that they play every year but the "high school" teams that Fiyero referred to are a joke for that team.
I don't know which would be the strongest conference. But I get sick of hearing all thy hype about the SEC. The alleged experts will always say that a Utah or BYU would never survive an SEC schedule. I'd argue that a Utah or BYU would waltz through Florida's schedule just as Florida will."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

Well, just for the record, I think that Utah, BYU, TCU or Boise COULD win week in and week out with an "SEC schedule" like Florida's.
Give me a break.
I get so tired of hearing "They couldn't win week in and week out in the SEC."
Bull BLEEP!
With small upgrades which would come with playing in the SEC, Utah, BYU and TCU would ALL win with such schedules as Florida's. 10-2 at worst.

I have to disagree with you on the Utah and BYU thing though. I don't think BYU and Utah would waltz through Florida's schedule. I actually think Utah would do better than BYU because they are a more athletic team but I think they would probably finish around 8-4. Their schedule week in and week out is so much more physical than what they play know and going on the road in the SEC is so difficult."Take it to the Bank"

The top 3 in the MWC would struggle with LSU or Georgia's schedule this year, but the slate Ole Miss and Florida faces is just sad.

But I refuse to stop mocking the SEC when most of those teams are too big of sissies to play teams from the MWC!"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

The BCS is self-fulfilling! They get better recruiting because they are in one of the pre-ordained BCS conferences.
Take away that nonsense and the field would even out a bit. Especially for a program like Utah that has been to and won two BCS bowls. That's as many as the ACC combined, isn't it???

A loss to a team that isn't ranked does more damage than a loss to a quality opponent. LSU and Penn St. being the prime examples.*Banned*
