  • The Tulsa and Wake Forest games are huge....

If BYU wins both my guess is the Cougars are likely to be ranked the first week in January. Lose one or the other and BYU will max out at an 8-9 seed. I really think that the nature of the BYU loss gives BYU a good shot to make something good out of a tough loss. Win both and BYU has a shot to get as high as 4 but more likely a 5 or 6. I really think BYU should do no worse than 13-3 in conference play.

I still like Abouo. Even if the foul was stupid, the kid has guts and instincts. If he can develop some decent hoop skills he is going to be a stud the next 3 years. I am glad he is the one the coach went with, his upside is much higher than anyone else on the bench.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I just watched the ESPN highlights and I think they got the call at the end right; they showed a nice stillshot with the light going off and the ball still touching Abouo's hand. I didn't watch the rest of the game, however, so I have no comment on the rest of the calls. ESPN announcers gave nice props to BYU, saying something like "this is a good team, this is a tournament team".
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

In hoops there are moral victories, if you will. What matters is how good the team really is and from what I watched I think that this is the best BYU team since the Reid coached teams of the first half of the last decade. However, lets save our worst games for at home against CSU or WYO or on the road against UNLV. Play well against Tulsa and Wake Forest for two decent RPI wins and putting BYU in a position to get a good seed.

I am really bully on this squad. I like them a great deal more than last year, the key is to avoid the patented late OOC season swoon they have had the past two years. Tulsa scares me to death. I think if Wake beats BYU, Wake is just a better team as I expect Wake to get BYU's best shot. However, Tulsa reminds me too much of Boise State or Lamar of the past few years. I am confident that once conference rolls around BYU will pound teams in the Marriot Center and win at least 5 conference road games.

That's pretty good confidence in a freshman, letting him guard the other team's man-child. He did a good job.

        Gotta like Jimmer's confidence.

The stupid turnovers toward the end of the game were frustrating.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

The video was kinda blurry and wasn't conclusively showing it touching Abouos hand,,,,,it wasn't conclusive enough to overturn.
