A 695-page transcript investigating NCAA infractions at FSU includes the following:

Brenda Monk, a learning specialist hired to work with athletes who had learning and physical disabilities, was accused of improperly helping students type, edit and write their papers. Monk, who testified that some of those athletes had a second-grade reading level, was accused of committing academic fraud.

If this is true, then opposing teams should not hesitate to provide FSU with "bulletin board" material.

Is this news supposed to add insult to injury? Because I feel a bit shamed and a little like I want to anvil chop their quarterback in the teeth.

I think it would be interesting if the report differentiates between players with learning disabilities and those without. If there were players that had special needs in the classroom and those needs were not met by the university, then that is truly a shame. Not all of these guys are going to play in the NFL.

I know that some will take this as an opportunity to take a shot at FSU, and that is justified, but this is a pretty sad report if it is true.
