Some bulletin board material from CSU's defensive leader:

"I'll never forget it. I know what it did for us that year as far as our confidence and it really turned the year around for us and it will do the same when we beat them on Saturday," Kubiak said.

I feel strangely ambivalent about this game. Stucker is a good QB, and the defensive personnel isn't horrible, but Whittingham is a lock when he has more than a week to prepare for a team once the season has started. And I like what I saw from the offense against L'ville, even if we stagnated at times.

If we don't turn the ball over and finish drives, we'll win.

The important thing for this game (and the next @ UNLV) is that it is a chance for Whit & Co. to really prove that they have turned the corner and can beat teams they're supposed to beat on the road. I think CSU is a decent team, but we don't want to give them any reason to gain confidence against us. Fairchild may yet bring them back from the dead, but we should still win.

With the weather report, it'll be a sloppy game. We've just got to hold on to the ball and not give them any opportunities (like we did @ Air Force last year).

If the Utes can get this one and the next, that'll set up a three game home stand before a big trip to TCU.

No kidding. I imagine a lot of fly sweeps to Brooks and Wesson. Wide III looks good, but he'll end up like the rest if he has 30 carries.

I am a little bit surprised that the Utes haven't been better on offense, running back injuries or no. I remember thinking last week that we should just run the ball because we were getting some good yardage (especially when Hall started throwing picks). CSU over the last few years has had poor run defense (against us anyway) and the Utes have an offensive line that should dominate.

One of the few times you'd hope for the McBride era offense instead?

I think I remember that your kicker sucks and that is why they went for it on 4th? 3 points in this game is a touchdown.

What happened to Shakey? I have been bouncing back and forth between the utes game and the Dodger game.

Ankle injury. Hurt it on a nice run.

Worse than that - 'high ankle sprain' isn't just you average ankle injury. It's one of those injuries that could knock you out for a week, but it could also end your season.

What is going on in this game? Why is Utah struggling so much with CSU? I am just looking at the half time box score. Looks like they're moving the ball fine, though 3rd down conversions are awful. Is that it?
