  • Good breakdown on TCU

This is a good breakdown on the play TCU used against Clemson that got Dalton 86 rushing yards.

With memories of last year and BYU historic trouble with running QBs, FSU's Pounder being the most recent, I hope the D can get a handle on this.

The analysis is solid. It appears that the defensive read here is the pulling guard on the counter motion. It can be a pretty tricky read from the trenches b/c the mass of everyone is moving one way with only one guy going the other. Also, tripping out the receivers on the side they are going to pulls the linebackers attention from the middle on that side of the field. Our 3-4 d would probably have the best chance of stopping this out of any defensive scheme, but it demands having really tight situational knowledge. Plus, they just have to move fast. Last year, Dalton really moved too fast for our guys and was a major reason why we got eaten alive in that game. We'll see how it goes in a few weeks.
