Agreed. The five worst calls/no calls would be any 5 from either or a combinationof both BYU losses. Just ask Jefe's board.

I liked that in the comments below the article, a Sooner fan suggested that a call from the OU-TX game should have made the list. (No call in particular. But if we lost, any old call will do.)

The fan mentality is terrific, isn't it?

The worst officiating I've been involved with was that stupid ump in a game against Manhatten College. He wasn't about to give me anything on the outside of the plate. But unlike a fan, there was something I could do about it.

It was a shame that I didn't get my glove up quick enough the next inning. He caught one right smack in the middle of the face mask.

Although admittedly you weren't among them Il Pad. You were a good sport. :)

I honestly can't think of a bad call that cost BYU a game this year. The two losses did not come down to any one call.

Despite the protesting at the end of the UW game, Jake Locker did chuck the ball super high in the air. Not sure I would have called that, but at least it was correct according to the rules.

Conversely, in the SC/tOSU game, Rey WOWaluga intercepted a pass and ran down the sidelines for a touchdown. That one was the wrong call because his foot clearly touched the line. But like BYU's losses, that one call did not cost tOSU the game.

Perhaps the worst call of the season was UW's trustees deciding to sponsor a D-1 men's team this year. That or Notre Dame retaining Charlie Weis for another season.

Yep. Lots and lots of whining from the red side about those games.

I have been really surprised that with BYU playing Arizona in the bowl game that Matt Allen's offensive PI from 2 years ago has barley even been mentioned.

I must have missed that one, as I don't know about it.

Was it a game-changer?

Yes it was. It was in the corner of the endzone, Allen caught the TD pass and they called offensive PI when he clearly did not push off at all.

BYU lost on a last second fieldgoal.

Allen pushed off and caught a TD, the offensive PI was called. BYU had to settle for a FG. Then of course lost by 3 points, P10 refs screwed poor BYU again. Some were even crying about how bad the P10 refs had screwed BYU at Washington this year.
