Testing my foot one last time. If it's pain free for 4 miles I'm doing that marathon. If not, I sit home and feel like a pansy. To be honest I have very little faith that 3 1/2 days will have changed anything but a guy can hope, right?

Best of luck SteelBlue ... I feel your frustration. I thought I only slightly tweaked my shoulder doing floor pressess last week ... but one week later and its still giving me problems.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostTesting my foot one last time. Yes, it focuses on the upper part of the lift. The upper part of the lift is most important for max benching because the lower part of the lift gets the most assistance from a bench shirt (and an arch). I don't do floor presses much because I don't even bench anymore, but a powerlifting buddy (also a professor at Harvard Business School) was in town and he wanted to do them.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostI've never done floor presses. Are they used to improve your bench?

Good luck. If you are left on the couch, you can feel like me instead of a pansy. It's not so bad, most of the time.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostTesting my foot one last time. Good luck. I can't even imagine attempting a marathon at this point.
My fat ass has ballooned nearly 30 pounds since Gidget and me married. I have a friendly contest with my brother-in-law who is 3 pounds lighter than me and in need of a diet also. We're weighing in on Christmas when they're in town."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Thanks guys. I took your hope, multiplied it by mine and went out on a very confident test run this morning. I felt great for the first couple of miles and then the injury flared right back up. This thing needs a couple of weeks to heal so I'm out. I'll have to pick another one and try again.

Break a leg"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
